Some of the best conversations take place on a road trip...especially at night. Life is a journey...a road trip to our rightful home...and these are some of my thoughts along the way.

Cosby Show Fun...part 4

You all are incredible!!!! I love it. Monday morning...winners will be posted. Everyone who has played will be a winner...but there will be real prizes. :) How much fun am I having? LOTS!!!!

Let me give another little shout out to my place of employment. I get to meet all kinds of people and I love that. Yesterday a girl in her 20s walked in with her mom. I had on my beautiful black and white embroidered head wrap ( maybe I should work for QVC). They commented on how they liked it and wanted to know how I was able to tie it. I told them and then the young lady informed me that she was getting ready to lose all of her hair because soon she would be starting chemotherapy. I let her know that is why I started wearing headwraps a lot more. I told her how I was sick and all of my hair fell out...but I was able to try fun things to compensate. I left out the wig part. :) That made her smile. It was a good day!!

Ok....
Sandra and Elvin....bless!!!

We all felt such a deep love for Elvin because he...well...he struggled at times. But he came an awful long way from the time he insulted Clair to the final episode.

Bonus...where do they take the babies?

8. What was the storyline of the first episode we meet Sandra?

9. What does Elvin try to open for Clair but is unable to...so Sandra opens it?
Bonus...what is it that Cliff tells Elvin to do in situations like this?

10. Elvin was known for hyperventilating...during the process of buying a home...what causes him to hyperventilate?
Bonus...why did they have to postpone their move in date?

I love this game! I don't ever want it to end! I will be sad when it does :( I will probably cry! Now...let's get on with it!

1st Bonus: Elvin insulted Claire by asking her if she had obtained permission from Cliff to purchase a piece of artwork from an auction the family was going to attend. You see, Claire decides that she is going to try and obtain a painting that was once painted by a distant "Hank's" relative. She informs Cliff of the auction and tells him that she wants to purchase the painting and bring it back to the family. Upon hearing this Elvin asks the stupid question, "Did you get Dr. Huxtable's permission to buy the painting?" What the heck?

    1. Theo had taken up wrestling. Elvin wrestled in high school and thought that he could teach Theo a thing or two, so he decides to "peace out" on his concert date with Sandra. If I am not mistaken I think that Cliff went in his place.

    2. Elvin decides that he is going to make the family a great dinner to makeup for his “run- in” with Claire earlier in the day. Cliff decides to help him out a bit by sharing the secret to his wonderful spaghetti sauce...its store bought! Elvin takes his advice and prepares a wonderful spaghetti dinner while the family is out at the auction obtaining the painting (the earlier point of controversy).

    3. Elvin likes to call Saundra "muffin".

    4. Sabrina Le Beauf plays the character Sondra Huxtable Tibideaux and Geoffrey Owens plays the role of her wonderful husband, Elvin Tibideaux.

    5. Sandra goes into labor at the Huxtable house. Elvin goes crazy! He is hyperventating and basically freaking out! Upon arriving at the hospital we learn that while in route Elvin had to pull over and allow Sandra to finish the drive! All was well and later that evening Sandra and Elvin welcomed their precious twins Winnie and Nelson into the world! Fun point of interest…the roles of Winnie and Nelson were played by two completely different sets of twins. Not only were the babies that played Winnie and Nelson not twins…they weren’t even related!!!

    6. I'm pretty sure that Claire found a waitressing uniform behind the door of that dumpy apartment.

    7. Sandra is sick with the flu. Claire and Mrs. Tibideaux come to take the twins out so they won't get sick. The deicide to take the twins to the hair salon with them for a little "touch up".

    8. I believe that we first meet Sandra when she arrives home on a visit from Princeton. She and Elvin have come home to each visit their families and they are fighting (of course) because Elvin would not let Sandra pay for her half of the gas on the trip.

    9. Clair is unable to open a jar of pickles that she wants to use for dinner. Elvin offers to open the jar saying that it is "a man's job". Elvin has no luck; while he is trying Sandra comes in the room and offers her assistance. After a couple of taps on the counter and one to the bottom of the jar, Sandra opens the jar with ease!

    10. Cliff agrees to co-sign on the purchase of Sandra and Elvin's first home. After Cliff has signed the papers and discussed with Elvin the importance of buying his first home ...the money...the payments...all that jazz...Elvin goes up to the bathroom and begins to hyperventilate when he thinks about the HUGE purchase he has just made! He is afraid that he won't have the money to make the payments. After being alerted by Olivia, Winnie and Nelson, Cliff comes upstairs to have a "man to man" with Elvin and informs him that he is a doctor and will never be without a job! Later we find that Sandra and Elvin have to postpone their move-in date because the couple that owned the house they were planning to buy had announced there plans to divorce at the "signing" earlier that day. What a bummer!

Big Bonus - Throughout many episodes we find Cliff quite proud of himself and the fact that he cannot be fooled. Sandra and Elvin come home from college to announce their recent engagement to their families. Upon learning this information Claire decides to use this as an opportunity to one again try and fool her husband. She schemes a plan with Elvin and Sandra to fool Cliff that evening at dinner by pretending to not allow the engagement to take place by informing Cliff that she doesn’t so much as want to hear Elvis’s voice at dinner. Well, plans backfire! Cliff finds out about the plan to deceive him and decides to play around a little of his own. He in turn tricks the family by pretending to try and throw Elvin out. In the end everything works out perfectly and the episode ends with a romantic proposal from Elvin. How lovely!

I love the additional storylines brought about by the relationship between Sandra and Elvin. However, I never understood why the network didn’t decide to capitalize on the chance to increase viewers by taping and airing a “wedding episode” for the Tibideaex?!? We all know that “wedding episodes” are a sure thing for increasing viewers for season premieres or finales!!

    10. I don't know.

Original plan was for Sandra and Elvin to play a trick on Cliff but he finds out and decides to play a trick on Sandra and Elvin.
The whole family is at dinner and Elvin is about to propose and Cliff stands up and protest the whole thing and when Theo tries to defend Sandra and Elvin and Cliff says "Sit down Boy!" (I think). And then in Cliff's usual moment says "Gotcha, I Got you all." And he asks Elvin to go ahead and propose to Sandra. The End. Happy Ending
